Originally commissioned by the National Training User Group, via the IDeA, the course has been revised by Norfolk County Council and the NE RIEP, together with Learning Pool. It is now completely updated for 2008 in line with new procurement legislation.

Jane Waring, Head of Corporate Procurement for Norfolk County Council and former chair of the NTUG, says
"There is a great demand for basic procurement training for budget holders across Local Government and this course is designed to fill this need. There has long been a need for the Passport to Procurement course which provides an introductory level of understanding in a format accessible to Local Government managers."
